Global Game Console Sales 2004-2021

There are many great news announced in last week’s Nintendo Direct. I am really looking forward to the upcoming games that are going to be released on NS in the rest of the year, including Xenoblade Chronicles 3, Persona 5 Royal, NieR:Automata, Pokemon scarlet and Violet, etc. So this week, I am going to make a game theme visualization, looking at the game console sales units on the three main platforms (nintendo, playstation, and xbox) over time.

My Visualization

This visualization puts each platform on its separate row with annual stacked sales units by all their consoles.

Please notice that all the visualizations are designed for desktop view, so it is recommended to view them on a desktop device.
