This week, I came across this post on Medium, sharing 10 best data visualization in 2022. These visualizations are defenitely fasinating. One of them shows how US college field of study has changed in the past 10 years. This week, I decided to look at the same data shared by National Center for Educational Statistics and visualize field of study by different race/ethnicities.
My Visualization
This visualization combines bubbles and line charts to show the top field of study and how it differs across ehtnicities.
Please notice that all the visualizations are designed for desktop view, so it is recommended to view them on a desktop device.
Insights
- Business and Management is the top field of study across all race/ethnicities, followed by Health Professions;
- However, we see very different pattern from Asian starting from the 3rd place – Asian show much higher preference over Biological, Computer Science, and Engnieering than all other ethnicites.
