Weekly Wages Change by State
This week I was looking at the website of U.S. BUREAU OF LABOR STATISTICS, and found the report of the weekly avg wage changes by state. It has the data of avg weekly wage in March 2022 and 2023.
My Visualization
The visualization has two parts. On the left, it has tbe gantt plot which shows the weekly wages in 2022 and 2023 by state. Meanwhile, on the right, it has a bar chart showing the % change.
Please notice that all the visualizations are designed for desktop view, so it is recommended to view them on a desktop device.
Insights
- States with the highest average wages are New York, Massachusetts, and Connecticut (this one I am a bit surprised);
- The % change from 2022 to 2023 is mostly between 5% and 10%, and the median is 7.6%, which is in line with the inflation rate.
