US Office Visit Recovery Rate
With more and more tech companies adjusting their return-to-office (RTO) policies, Amazon became the first big tech requiring 5-day in office after the pandemic. This week, I found a office visit recovery rate data from Axios, showing the average RTO level by major US metropolitan cities.

Insights
- On average, office visits in July 2024 is still 72.2% of the level in July 2019 – it hasn’t bounced back to the pre-pandemic level yet;
- However, we see high variance across the metropolitan cities. Miami and New York has the highest office visit recovery level of ~90%, but in SF Bay Area, it is still only ~50%.
