Amazon Prime Day 2015-2025

Last week July 8th to 11th was Amazon Prime Day event. This is the first time that Amazon extended Prime Day to 4 consecutive days. This makes me wonder, if Amazon Prime day has getting longer over time. Therefore, my visualization this week is to show the Amazon Prime Day since 2015.

This is a minimalist visualization that marks the days of Amazon Prime Day and Amazon Prime Big Deal Day since 2015.

Insights

  • Prime Day started in 2015 as a mid-July summer sales event, and was initially just one day in 2015 and 2016;
  • From 2015 to 2019, it was consistently held in July, but moved to Oct due to COVID;
  • Since 2022, Amazon introduced a second event in October called Prime Big Deal Day, also lasting two days;
  • In 2025, Prime Day is officially extended to 4 days, suggesting an expansion of Amazon sales events.
