I am planning for my next trip and saw some very long direct flights from the US to Australia. Therefore, this week I am visualizing the top 30 longest flight routes around the world. The data comes from wikipedia.

Insights

• Many of the top routes link U.S. cities (JFK, EWR, LAX, SFO, IAH, DFW, ATL) to Asia-Pacific destinations like Singapore, Sydney, Auckland, and Manila;
• Common long-haul hubs include Singapore (a global transit hub), Austraila/New Zealand (given their geographic isolation), and the Middle East.
