The dataset I visualize this week is posted by Visual Capitalist. It shows the top 1%, the bottom 50% per capita wealth, and top 1% share of wealth across major economies around the world.
My Visualization
My visualization consists of three columns – The first two columns are bar charts with bars representing per capita wealth; the last column shows the top1% share of wallet.
Insights
- While the top 1% per capita wealth is the highest in the US, the bottom 50% per capita wealth in the US is much lower than in most of the other major economies;
- Across all the major economies in this dataset, the U.K. has the lowest top 1% share of wealth at 21%.
